Jane Aaron is a Professor in the School of Humanities at the University of Glamorgan, and the co-director of that institution's Centre for Gender Studies in Wales.

  Nigel Annett
Nigel Annett, with Chris Jones formed Glas Cymru, the not-for-profit company that acquired Welsh Water in May 2001, the change in ownership financed by a successful £1.9 billion bond issue. Nigel was appointed Managing Director of Glas Cymru in January 2005. Nigel was previously a Director of Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (1992 - 2000), prior to joining Welsh Water Nigel held various investment banking positions with Schroders, County NatWest and Wasserstein Perella.
  Professor Paul Atkinson
Paul Atkinson is Distinguished Research Professor in Sociology at Cardiff University where he is Associate Director of the Centre for Economic and Social Aspects of Genomics. His research interests also include the sociology of the arts. He has recently published a book about Welsh National Opera, entitled Everyday Arias.
  Dr John G Ball
Dr John Ball is a senior lecturer in strategic economics at Swansea Business School. Educated at Dynevor Grammar School, Swansea, University College Cardiff and University of Wales, Swansea he is widely regarded as an expert on regional policy.

Eleanor Burnham
Eleanor Burnham is the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales. A fluent Welsh speaker, she is currently the party champion for the Welsh language and her political interests lie in full devolution for Wales, social inclusion and lifelong-learning.

Professor Antony J Chapman
Professor Chapman is UWIC's Vice-Chancellor. He has, with colleagues, produced close to 20 books and some 150 journal articles, and his research has been funded by grants/contracts from the EU, the SSRC/ESRC, SRC/EPRC and MRC.

George Crabb
I am a retired teacher and have long been active in the peace movement. Although brought up in London, I have lived in Wales since the late 40s. I have learnt to speak Welsh fairly fluently, sing in a Cor Meibion and enjoy all aspects of the ancient culture. I am currently involved in a Cynefin y Werin initiative, aimed at working with other networks in Wales to establish a Civil Society Forum.

Daniel Cunliffe is a Senior Lecturer in multimedia computing and leads the Computing and Minority Languages Group in the School of Computing at the University of Glamorgan.

Rhys David
Rhys David has been associate director of the IWA since 2001. Previously a journalist with the Western Mail and the Financial Times, he is also the former managing director and publisher of Business, a Pearson Group/Conde Nast title. At the IWA he has been responsible for a number of research projects including studies into the socioeconomic characteristics of the south Wales valleys and into industrial clusters. He is a member of the Regional Studies Association and of the Royal Society for Arts.

Carole-Anne Davies
Carole-Anne is Chief Executive of the Design Commission for Wales, a trustee of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales and chair of mesa, Wales’ first International Performance Collective. Carole-Anne has worked with architects, artists, design and construction teams on public art, infrastructure development and regeneration projects in the private and public sectors for more than a decade. She was a member of CABE’s advisory panel for PROJECT, promoting collaboration between artists and architects and has contributed to professional and post-graduate training at the Portuguese Centre for Design, Lisbon, Portugal and the University of Barcelona, Spain. Carole-Anne currently chairs the Landscape Institute Awards judging panel for Landscape Policy and is a member of the UWIC School of Art and Design Advisory Board. She was awarded the Welsh Woman of the Year Award for Arts & Media in 2005.

Siwan Eleri Davies
Siwan is Head of Legislation and Chamber Services at the National Assembly for Wales. She returned to Wales in 2008 after 3 years in Australia, where she was Deputy Clerk of the Queensland Parliament. Siwan is also a member of Glas Cymru (Welsh Water).

Ceri Doyle
Ceri began her career as a management trainee with British Coal Opencast. She moved to the planning department of Glasgow City Council and set up their first European Unit. Headhunted to South Lanarkshire County Council as Head of International Affairs, she later established the Council's External Resources Unit, a best practice model now replicated by local authorities across the country. As Head of External Resources, Ceri established a number of not for profit companies representing public, private and voluntary sector interests in tackling unemployment and community regeneration. She was a Board member of South Lanarkshire College, and is currently a non-executive director with Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust. In 2005 she was shortlisted for Welsh Woman of the Year.

Ian Hargreaves
Ian Hargreaves is Professor of Journalism at Cardiff University and ran the Centre for Journalism Studies at the university between 1998 and 2002. He is also well known as a former editor (the Independent and the New Statesman), writer and broadcaster. Currently, his main role is as Director of Corporate and Public Affairs for BAA, the airports group.

Judith Isherwood is currently Chief Executive of the Wales Millennium Centre, a post she has held since 2003. Judith has spent more than 25 years working in the arts and cultural industries, the majority of this time in her native Australia. She is committed to the development of the Wales Millennium Centre as one of the world's leading cultural centres.

Roger Lewis
Roger was appointed group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union in September 2006, having previously spent his entire 30-year career in the media and music businesses. After working in BBC and commercial radio he left in 1990 to become Managing Director of EMI's Classical Division and the EMI Premier Label Group, then World Wide President of the Decca Record Company. He stayed in the record industry for eight years before joining Classic FM in 1998. He was Managing Director and Programme Controller of Classic FM and a main board director of its parent company, GWR group plc for six years.
His appointment as Managing Director of ITV Wales in September 2004 saw him take charge of all broadcasting matters, including the commissioning of the ITV Wales regional schedule. He was also responsible for managing the Regional Affairs department liaising on all compliance, training and broadcasting issues.
Roger was born at Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, 24th August 1954 and educated at Cynffig Comprehensive School, and the University of Nottingham. In his youth he played with the Glamorgan Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and the Welsh Jazz Orchestra. Following his graduation, he spent four years as a musician, composer and musical director.

Sir Richard Lloyd Jones
Vice-Chairman of Age Concern England and a member of the Council of Cardiff University. Since retiring as Permanent Secretary of the Welsh Office in 1993, he has been chairman of the Arts Council of Wales (1994-1999); of the Fishguard International Music Festival (1999-2005); and of Age Concern Cymru (1999-2005).

A specialist in Commercial Law issues he advises companies and organisations on corporate finance, company and business disposals, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and the commercial agreements they enter into. Steve has developed a particular expertise in the field of sport and sponsorhip agreements as well as acting in relation to several inward investments in the area.
Steve is Vice President of West Wales Chamber of Commerce and a Director of Swansea City AFC.

Lord Rowe-Beddoe
Lord Rowe-Beddoe has been Chairman of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff since 2001, and was formerly Chairman (1993 to 2001) of the Welsh Development Agency. He has had a successful business career within multi-national companies, and alongside that has always supported the performing arts. Amongst other appointments, he is President of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Wiard is currently Director of CBAT The Arts & Regeneration Agency, a Cardiff based organisation which specialises in the integration of artist led projects in urban and rural regeneration projects in collaboration with the public and private sectors and communities. His career spans both the Visual and Performing Art and he holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Art History.

Professor Mark Tewdwr-Jones
Professor Mark Tewdwr-Jones is Professor of Spatial Planning and Governance and Director of Research at The Bartlett School of Planning, University College London, and Visiting Professor, School of Geography, Planning and Environment, University College Dublin.
Mark is an internationally renowned expert in urban and regional planning. With almost 20 years of experience, his specialist research interests are predominantly in the fields of British planning policy and European spatial planning, rural housing, regional economic development, governance and politics. He regularly advises ministers and government departments in the EU, England, Scotland and Wales, quangos and professional organisations, and serves on the RTPI General Assembly.

Jeremy Thomas was born in Swansea and educated at Dynevor School Swansea and Christ's College Cambridge. He is a partner specialising in corporate law at the London law firm Allen and Overy.

Ned Thomas
Ned Thomas has been a journalist with Times Newspapers and editor of the British Government's Russian-language cultural quarterly Anglia. He was the founder-editor of Planet - the Welsh Internationalist and is currently Chair of the company set up to publish the first Welsh-language daily newspaper, Y Byd. He taught for many years at University of Wales, Aberystwyth where he is currently academic director of the Mercator Centre, and has been a visiting professor at the universities of Salamanca, Moscow and Paris. He is the author of several volumes of literary and cultural criticism.

Martin Tinney
Martin Tinney is widely regarded as the pre-eminent dealer in 20th century and contemporary Welsh art, and has almost single-handedly been responsible for the transformation in the professionalism of the commercial visual arts scene in Wales.

Bill Tudor John, from Llantrisant originally, was educated at Cowbridge Grammar School and Downing College, Cambridge where he is presently an Associate Fellow. He spent most of his career with Allen & Overy, the international law firm, becoming a partner in 1972, Managing Partner in 1992 and Senior Partner in 1994. On his retirement from the firm in 2000 he became a Managing Director of Lehman Brothers where he currently chairs their European Commitment Committee. He is a non-executive director of Grainger Trust plc and of The National Film and Television School, Chairman of The Portland Building Society and of Wales in London and Deputy Chair of The Financial Markets Law Committee. He is a Steward of Appeal of The British Boxing Board of Control and a member of the Oxford University Development Board. Bill is also the current High Sheriff of Hertfordshire.
