Rhys David
Rhys David has been associate director of the IWA since
2001. Previously a journalist with the Western Mail and the Financial
Times, he is also the former managing director and publisher of
Business, a Pearson Group/Conde Nast title. At the IWA he has
been responsible for a number of research projects including studies
into the socioeconomic characteristics of the south Wales valleys
and into industrial clusters. He is a member of the Regional Studies
Association and of the Royal Society for Arts. |

Carole-Anne Davies
Carole-Anne is Chief Executive of the Design Commission
for Wales, a trustee of the National Museums and Galleries of
Wales and chair of mesa, Wales’ first International Performance
Collective. Carole-Anne has worked with architects, artists, design
and construction teams on public art, infrastructure development
and regeneration projects in the private and public sectors for
more than a decade. She was a member of CABE’s advisory
panel for PROJECT, promoting collaboration between artists and
architects and has contributed to professional and post-graduate
training at the Portuguese Centre for Design, Lisbon, Portugal
and the University of Barcelona, Spain. Carole-Anne currently
chairs the Landscape Institute Awards judging panel for Landscape
Policy and is a member of the UWIC School of Art and Design Advisory
Board. She was awarded the Welsh Woman of the Year Award for Arts
& Media in 2005. |

Siwan Eleri Davies
Siwan is Head of Legislation and Chamber Services at the National
Assembly for Wales. She returned to Wales in 2008 after 3 years
in Australia, where she was Deputy Clerk of the Queensland Parliament.

Ceri Doyle
Ceri began her career as a management trainee with British
Coal Opencast. She moved to the planning department of Glasgow
City Council and set up their first European Unit. Headhunted
to South Lanarkshire County Council as Head of International Affairs,
she later established the Council's External Resources Unit, a
best practice model now replicated by local authorities across
the country. As Head of External Resources, Ceri established a
number of not for profit companies representing public, private
and voluntary sector interests in tackling unemployment and community
regeneration. She was a Board member of South Lanarkshire College,
and is currently a non-executive director with Bro Morgannwg NHS
Trust. In 2005 she was shortlisted for Welsh Woman of the Year. |

Roger Lewis
Roger was appointed group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union
in September 2006, having previously spent his entire 30-year
career in the media and music businesses. After working in BBC
and commercial radio he left in 1990 to become Managing Director
of EMI's Classical Division and the EMI Premier Label Group, then
World Wide President of the Decca Record Company. He stayed in
the record industry for eight years before joining Classic FM
in 1998. He was Managing Director and Programme Controller of
Classic FM and a main board director of its parent company, GWR
group plc for six years.
His appointment as Managing Director of ITV Wales in September
2004 saw him take charge of all broadcasting matters, including
the commissioning of the ITV Wales regional schedule. He was also
responsible for managing the Regional Affairs department liaising
on all compliance, training and broadcasting issues.
Roger was born at Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, 24th August 1954
and educated at Cynffig Comprehensive School, and the University
of Nottingham. In his youth he played with the Glamorgan Youth
Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and the Welsh
Jazz Orchestra. Following his graduation, he spent four years
as a musician, composer and musical director. |

Scotland and Wales, quangos and professional organisations,
and serves on the RTPI General Assembly.

Ned Thomas
Ned Thomas has been a journalist with Times Newspapers

- the Welsh Internationalist and is currently Chair of the
company set up to publish the first Welsh-language daily newspaper,
Y Byd. He taught for many years at University of Wales,
Aberystwyth where he is currently academic director of the Mercator
Centre, and has been a visiting professor at the universities
of Salamanca, Moscow and Paris. He is the author of several volumes
of literary and cultural criticism.

Cowbridge Grammar School and Downing College, Cambridge where

1994. On his retirement from the firm in 2000 he became a Managing
Director of Lehman Brothers where he currently chairs their European
Commitment Committee. He is a non-executive director of Grainger
Trust plc and of The National Film and Television School, Chairman
of The Portland Building Society and of Wales in London and Deputy
Chair of The Financial Markets Law Committee. He is a Steward
of Appeal of The British Boxing Board of Control and a member
of the Oxford University Development Board. Bill is also the current
High Sheriff of Hertfordshire. |
